Location: Birmingham
Salary:(£13.20 per hour + plus shift allowance

Hours: 38 hours per week

Shift Pattern (Rotating Weekly)

Are you an experienced Press Operator looking for your next challenge? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company for a permanent Press Operator to join their production team.

The Role

Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, you will be responsible for operating power presses and associated production equipment to manufacture high-quality components that meet engineering specifications and customer expectations.

You will play an important role in ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and health & safety.

Key Responsibilities

Operate power presses ranging from 20 to 250 tonnes.

Manufacture components to engineering drawings and quality specifications.

Carry out first-off and in-process inspections using measuring equipment.

Ensure all products meet quality standards before progressing through production.

Work closely with Supervisors, Coordinators, and Engineers to maximise production efficiency.

Monitor machine performance and report any faults or production issues.

Follow production schedules and achieve daily output targets.

Maintain accurate production and traceability documentation.

Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.

Maintain excellent housekeeping standards, following 5S principles.

Adhere to all company Health & Safety procedures and promote a safe working environment.

Assist with manual handling duties where required.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

At least 2 years' experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.

Previous experience operating power presses (20T–250T).

Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, and gauges.

A good understanding of manufacturing quality standards.

Basic computer skills.

GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English are advantageous.

Salary:

Training Rate: £26,082 per annum (£13.20 per hour) plus shift allowance

Once Fully Trained: £14.07 per hour plus shift allowance

AM Shift

Monday to Thursday: 6:00am – 2:00pm

Friday: 6:00am – 12:00pm

PM Shift

Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm – 10:00pm

Friday: 12:00pm – 6:00pm
