About the Team

Join our dynamic and innovative team at The Very Group as an integral member of our Insurance Team.

As part of the FS Commercial & Account Management team, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering a wide range of insurance and protection products that enhance Very’s retail offering. Our work ensures that customers have access to comprehensive insurance options that provides peace of mind and protection for their purchases.

 Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, as we foster close relationships with all teams across the business, including marketing, finance, compliance, product development, and customer service, to ensure that our insurance products align with the overall strategic goals of the company.

About the role

As a Pricing Manager you will be making best use of the increasing amount of data available to make more informed pricing decisions for our Insurance portfolio business and ultimately creating value for The Very Group.

This will require:

• A deep understanding of statistical modelling, and market trends to drive pricing decisions, as well as expertise in producing insurance-based reporting, building pricing models using software such as SAS and Python, and analysing insurance data to evaluate pricing and claims performance.
• You and the pricing team will work with the business to help us make the right decisions at the right times. Whether it’s providing performance analytics on pricing strategies, or developing statistical models for price optimisation, you’ll be expected to provide commercial insight and recommendations, communicating these in a compelling, impactful way to senior stakeholders.
• Development and communication of business recommendations on sales and pricing strategies to maximise sales

About you

We are seeking passionate, ambitious and down-to-earth individuals with the following skills;

• Coding for analytics at an intermediate level: SQL (essential), SAS (desirable). Should be able to confidently write new queries for building reports and informing decisions.
• A hands-on manager who is not afraid to ‘roll up their sleeves’ and wade into the detail to support and drive the team.
• Experience within a regulated consumer finance business, ideally having worked within a pricing/analytics function previously.
• Knowledge and experience of elasticity modelling (regression analysis in particular).
• A strong academic background and be highly analytical, numerate and commercial.

2nd Stage – A one-hour formal interview where you can expect both competency and technical questions. This will be held in person out our HQ in Speke.
