Year 1 Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant / Learning Support Practitioner Pastoral Focus (Thrive Approach)
Location: Watford, Hertfordshire Start Date: 1st September 2026 Contract: Fixed Term until July 2027 (initially) Hours: 27.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 9:15am - 3:15pm (30-minute unpaid lunch) Salary: H3.5 (£25,989 FTE)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and dedicated Year 1 Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant / Learning Support Practitioner to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Watford, Hertfordshire from September 2026.
This rewarding role has a strong pastoral focus and centres around supporting pupils using the Thrive approach, helping children build emotional resilience, confidence, and positive relationships during a key stage of their development.

Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored learning and emotional support for pupils in Year 1 Deliver small group and 1:1 pastoral interventions using the Thrive approach Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment Work closely with teachers and the wider support team to meet individual pupil needs
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience supporting children in Early Years or Key Stage 1 A genuine passion for child development and emotional well-being Knowledge of, or willingness to train in, the Thrive approach Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a teamThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking and values-led school where your support will make a real difference to children's lives.
