Primary School 1:1 Teaching Assistant

£100 - £115 per day

I am working with a variety of schools across the Wiltshire and Swindon area recruiting bright, engaging 1:1 teaching assistants to join a key stage 1 starting September. We offer a range of contracts from permanent to ad-hoc supply, whichever would suit you best!

You will play a vital role in a child's educational, emotional and social development, working directly with them on a 1:1 basis. You must be able to provide a calm, consistent and reassuring presence, adapting classroom materials to encourage engagement and proactive learning.

Responsibilities:

• Adapting lesson materials, making them accessible to the pupil.

• Providing one to one support during class.

• Reinforcing learning objectives set by the teacher.

• Assisting with literacy and numerical tasks breaking them down into more manageable steps.

• Understanding the individual needs of the pupil to best support them in class.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the pupil, parents and colleagues effectively.

• Patience, empathy and resilience to meet the diverse needs of students.

• Relevant qualifications and training non essential proving good experience.

• An understanding of relevant safe guarding and child protection procedures.
