Primary SEN Teaching Assistant (KS2)
I am working with a fantastically well-run, friendly primary school in Tameside that is looking to appoint a temporary SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Key Stage 2. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference to the educational journey of children with additional needs while working within a highly supportive and inclusive school environment.
What you'll be doing:

Providing dedicated support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within Key Stage 2 classrooms
Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver personalised learning and intervention programmes
Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to help them achieve their academic, social and emotional goals
Adapting learning activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs
Promoting confidence, independence and positive engagement in learning
Supporting the development of communication, social and emotional skills through positive interactions
Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to assessments and review meetings where appropriate
Encouraging positive behaviour and helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Who we're looking for:

Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, ideally within a primary school setting
Knowledge of a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
A patient, compassionate and resilient approach to supporting children
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
A proactive and flexible attitude with the confidence to use your initiative
Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and ensuring every child reaches their full potential
