Job Description - Primary - SENCO - Permanent, September 2025

Primary School SENCo

Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire

Salary: £32,251 to £51,051 per annum

Job Type: Permanent, full-time

This school is a lovely two-form entry school with a Nursery, located within the heart of Portsmouth. They have high aspirations and expectations for children to ‘be their best’ in all that they do, reflecting on their school ethos of ensuring that each child is provided with every opportunity to reach their potential.

The school is one of the most disadvantaged schools in the area and face significant challenges, but with the help of an excellent SENCo coming into the school, they’re hoping this will help not only provide freedom for you to innovate and develop tailored solutions, but to meet the needs of the children with care, skill and passion, supporting with their personal and academic growth.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience of being a SENCo
  • Hold National Award for SEN Coordination
  • Proven experience with Special Educational Needs
  • Committed to student success and well-being
