Primary Teacher - SEMH & SEND (with ability to teach Maths and/or English to GCSE)
Location: Loughborough | Salary: Up to £39500 | Full-Time, Permanent

We are delighted to be supporting a specialist independent day school in Loughborough in their search for a passionate and resilient Primary Teacher to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a therapeutic, child-centred environment that supports pupils aged 7-17 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and a range of additional SEND, including Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties.

This school offers a nurturing, trauma-informed setting where staff are empowered to build strong, positive relationships and deliver meaningful, personalised learning experiences. With small class sizes and a high staff-to-pupil ratio, every child receives the attention and support they need to thrive.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Primary-trained teacher who is also confident (or willing) to teach Maths and/or English to GCSE level. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that values creativity, flexibility, and a deep understanding of each child’s individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning journeys
  • Build nurturing, professional relationships with pupils
  • Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour management
  • Contribute to curriculum development and extra-curricular activities
  • Maintain high aspirations for all learners, regardless of their starting point
  • Participate in therapeutic training and reflective practice
What We’re Looking For:
  • QTS or QTLS qualification
  • Experience or strong interest in working with SEMH and SEND pupils
  • Ability to teach Maths and/or English to GCSE level
  • A flexible, empathetic, and child-centred approach
  • Resilience, creativity, and a collaborative mindset
