We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and passionate Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Harpenden for a full-time, one-term position starting in September 2026.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging lessons for a Year 5 class in line with the National Curriculum. Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development. Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils. Assess, monitor and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to support continued learning. Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment. Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants and parents/carers. Contribute to the wider life of the school. Uphold the school's safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply and will be fully supported. Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5, is desirable. A secure understanding of the National Curriculum. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. A positive, proactive and reflective approach to teaching.
