Working Hours/Pattern:
Full-time, although we would be happy to consider applicants who are looking to work on a part time basis. What is the role about?
As a Principal Business Analyst, you will lead the business analysis capability, shaping strategic outcomes and ensuring that digital products and services meet user and business needs. You will operate at the highest level of influence, setting standards, mentoring other BAs, and working closely with senior stakeholders to define and deliver complex, multi-disciplinary programmes.
This role is pivotal in driving digital transformation, aligning business objectives with technology strategy, and ensuring that investment decisions are underpinned by robust analysis and evidence.
Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Lead a small team of Business Analysts
Define and own the organisation’s business analysis approach, standards, and frameworks.
Lead discovery and scoping for complex programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and policy.
Provide expert analysis for high-risk, high-value initiatives across multiple platforms and services.
Shape business cases, benefits realisation plans, and options appraisals for major investments.
Ensure requirements traceability from strategy through to delivery and benefits measurement.
Mentor and coach Business Analysts across the organisation, building a strong community of practice.
Define career pathways, training plans, and recruitment standards for the BA profession.
Champion continuous improvement and innovation in analysis techniques and tools.
Establish and lead a Community of Practice for Business Analysis across Reed in Partnership, including building strong linkage and knowledge sharing with the wider Reed Group. driving continuous improvement of the Business Analysis capability within Reed in Partnership, in line with industry best practice.
Facilitate workshops and negotiations with senior executives, external partners, and delivery teams.
Manage complex stakeholder landscapes, balancing competing priorities and constraints.
Act as the escalation point for analysis-related issues across programmes.
Ensure compliance with organisational governance, data protection, and accessibility standards.
Provide assurance on requirements quality, solution alignment, and risk mitigation.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with:
Essential Criteria
Extensive experience in business analysis within large-scale digital transformation programmes.
Proven ability to operate at a strategic level, influencing senior stakeholders and shaping organisational direction.
Expertise in requirements engineering, process modelling, and business case development.
Strong understanding of technology trends, cloud platforms, and modern delivery practices (Agile, DevOps).
Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
IIBA Qualification
A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma.
GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification). OR achievement of a Level 2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage OR International Equivalents.
Desirable
Experience in government or regulated sectors.
Familiarity with DDaT capability framework and SFIA Level 6 responsibilities.
Certifications: CBAP, BCS Advanced Diploma in Business Analysis, Agile BA, or equivalent.
