Principal Civil Engineer

My client, a specialist, collaborative multidisciplinary Consultancy is searching for a Principal Civil Engineer in the West-Midlands area, with a view to the successful applicant spending much of the time working specifically in the bustling market town of Tamworth.

Essential Criteria:

• A BEng, MEng, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline)
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, etc.)
• Extensive experience of working in the UK water industry, and in the delivery of non-infrastructure projects
• Experience designing wastewater treatment plans, drainage, and pipelines
• High-level competency in civil design, analysis, and construction methodologies, including the use of tools such as AutoCAD, TEDDS, etc.
• Excellent working knowledge and application of Eurocodes, UK Design Standards, and water industry regulations
• Possess a full UK driving licence, with a willingness to travel to various sites, as and when required

As Principal Civil Engineer, you will be joining a successful, specialist team of design experts, with the opportunity to coordinate a talented team of engineers. Some of your roles and responsibilities will include:

• Leading the design of water and wastewater treatment plans and projects, throughout all stages of the process
• Designing RC elements, foundations, slabs, and other civil elements using relevant design software
• Producing high-quality technical reports, construction plans, and specifications to align with industry standards
• Develop a range of cost-effective engineering solutions, complying with UK industry standards, and oversee their successful implementation
• Provide technical governance, and approve design deliverables across all facets of various projects
• Conducting site visits for inspections and surveys, coordinating with contractors, clients, and other key stakeholders
• Champion continued business development through strategic planning, bids, and project proposals
