Job Description

Cromwell Medical Staffing is currently recruiting an experienced Band 8b Principal Clinical Psychologist to join one of our NHS clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist to provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence-based interventions for individuals with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

* Undertake highly specialist psychological assessments for patients with complex psychological, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.

* Develop psychological formulations and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

* Manage and maintain a specialist clinical caseload, ensuring accurate and timely clinical documentation.

* Develop, implement, and evaluate specialist psychological treatment programmes tailored to individual patient needs.

* Provide expert psychological consultation and advice to multidisciplinary teams and partner services.

* Offer clinical supervision, mentoring, and professional support to qualified psychologists, assistant psychologists, trainee psychologists, and other healthcare staff.

Essential Requirements

* Current HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.

* Significant post-qualification experience working as a Clinical Psychologist within the NHS or equivalent healthcare setting.

* Experience managing complex psychological presentations and specialist clinical caseloads.

* Experience providing clinical supervision and leadership to psychology staff and trainees.

* Excellent formulation, assessment, and therapeutic intervention skills.

Desirable Skills

* Previous experience working at Band 8a/8b level within the NHS.

* Experience in service development, clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement.

* Knowledge of current NHS mental health policies and psychological service frameworks.

* Experience contributing to teaching, training, and research activities.
