Lead the Future of Nuclear Engineering
Are you an experienced Principal EC&I Engineer ready to lead the delivery of some of the UK's most technically challenging engineering programmes?
We're looking for a Principal Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer to provide technical leadership across major nuclear and defence projects. You'll drive the design and delivery of complex safety-critical systems, influence engineering strategy, and mentor the next generation of engineers while working on programmes that support the UK's clean energy ambitions and national security.

The Role
As a Principal EC&I Engineer, you'll be responsible for leading multidisciplinary engineering activities from concept through to commissioning, ensuring technical excellence throughout every stage of project delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:

Leading the design and delivery of complex Electrical, Control & Instrumentation systems
Providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams
Reviewing and approving engineering designs, calculations and technical documentation
Ensuring compliance with nuclear safety, quality and regulatory requirements
Supporting engineering governance, technical assurance and design reviews
Mentoring and developing engineers across the business
Working closely with clients, regulators, suppliers and project stakeholders
Supporting project planning, technical risk management and strategic decision-making
Driving continuous improvement and engineering best practice across multiple projectsWhat We're Looking For
We're seeking experienced engineers with a proven track record in:

Leading the design and delivery of complex EC&I systems within highly regulated industries
Nuclear, defence, energy or other safety-critical sectors
Functional Safety and engineering governance
PLC, SCADA, control systems and instrumentation technologies
Technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams
Managing engineering risk and ensuring regulatory compliance
Client, regulator and supplier engagement
Mentoring and developing engineers at all levelsQualifications

Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Instrumentation or a related engineering discipline
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or actively working towards ChartershipSecurity Clearance
Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain SC Security Clearance.
