Principal Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist

£50,000 - £60,000

We are looking for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist to join a civil engineering company based in Newcastle.

The company was found over 100 years ago and focus on a variety of civil engineering schemes varying from small infrastructure to major strategic projects and offer a range of civil engineering consultancy.

As the Principal Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologists in the Newcastle city centre office, you will hold a key position in the team and help manage the geotechnical workload.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Lead a growing geotechnical and environmental team of geologists and geotechnical engineers.
Carry out Preliminary Risk Assessments investigations
Interpretative report writing and reviewing
Prepare Ground Investigation Reports and Geotechnical Design Reports
Deliver projects and work within a multi-disciplinary consultancy,
Provide technically sound and commercially focussed client proposals and reports

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Relevant degree qualification such as Geology or Civil Engineering
Experience in considering construction techniques and constraints
Strong technical project management experience
Experience in client facing roles & nurturing strong working relationships
A knowledge of AutoCAD, ArcGIS, RocScience, Oasys, gINT, PLAXIS or Wallap software is beneficial.
Exposure to sectors such as infrastructure, industrial, residential, commercial developments would be good to have
An understanding of contaminated land legislation is also beneficial
A good degree in Earth Sciences, Geology or Civil Engineering is required.
Either be chartered or working towards chartered status.
