A leading property advisory business is looking to strengthen its planning offer in London. The successful Principal Planner will work with clients across a broad commercial and development portfolio.

The role

You will work across commercial, retail, logistics, residential and estate-led development across London and the South East. Depending on seniority, you will lead or support instructions from initial appraisal to determination and beyond.

Prepare clear planning appraisals, statements and strategic advice.

Manage planning applications and coordinate technical inputs.

Maintain regular, professional communication with clients and project teams.

Negotiate constructively with local planning authorities and other stakeholders.

Review work produced by junior colleagues and support their development.

Contribute to fee proposals, client development and the commercial management of projects.

About you

Mrtpi; strong project management; experience of major applications and client-facing consultancy work. You should also be organised, dependable and able to explain planning issues in straightforward language. The business is interested in people who value good advice and long-term client relationships rather than unnecessary internal politics.

Package and working arrangements

The salary is £48,000–£60,000 plus benefits. The wider package includes flexible working, pension, healthcare, professional fees and cross-disciplinary career opportunities. Exact arrangements will depend on experience and will be discussed openly during the process.
