Principal Planning Lawyer

Our client, based in

Northamptonshire , is currently recruiting for a

Principal Planning Lawyer

on a

six-month temporary contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis, with the hourly rate being negotiable dependent upon experience.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a

Local Government setting

and must be able to attend

one evening Planning Committee meeting per month .

Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Providing planning and highways advice to internal clients and Councillors
Reviewing planning reports before they go to Planning Committee
Attending Planning Committee on a once-a-month basis, as well as attending their Chair’s briefing
Providing legal advice on all matters relating to highways
Assisting the Council with any planning inquiries
Drafting instructions to Counsel as and when required

Experience required:
Experience required of working in a similar role in a Local Government environment

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Planning Law
Highways expertise
