Principal Transport Planner - Outside IR35

Our client, is currently seeking a Principal Transport Planner to join their team on a contract basis. The position, based in Winchester, involves strategic transport planning, focusing on the delivery of high-quality strategic outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing experienced strategic transport planning support to the Area Strategy and Scheme Development Team
Leading the development and delivery of transport scoping and strategies, Movement and Place Frameworks, and long-term transport planning studies
Progressing priority strategic projects within the 2026/27 Transport Programme
Offering specialist expertise and leadership in strategic transport planning
Mentoring and coaching less experienced officers
Collaborative project delivery to enhance team capability and expertise
Delivering high-quality strategic outputs

Job Requirements:

Extensive experience in transport planning
Strong understanding of transportation and highways disciplines
Proven ability in strategic project development and delivery
Leadership skills and experience in mentoring and coaching
Excellent communication and collaborative abilities
Ability to commit to hybrid working, with attendance in the Winchester office every Monday
Valid car driving licence (Category B)
