Principle Designer/CDM

Are you an experienced and proactive Principal Designer ready to lead critical health and safety outcomes in diverse projects? We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our consultancy client and champion safety in the built environment.

In this key role, you'll ensure the safe realisation of our clients' visions by acting as the appointed Principal Designer. You'll orchestrate collaboration among designers, advise clients on their CDM duties, and lead risk mitigation throughout the pre-construction phase.

• Lead CDM Compliance: Plan, manage, and monitor the pre-construction phase, ensuring designs are safe to construct, occupy, and maintain.
• Coordinate Design Safety: Facilitate communication and cooperation between clients, designers, and principal contractors to achieve optimal safety outcomes.
• Develop & Maintain Key Information: Oversee the creation of Pre-Construction Information and the Health and Safety File.
• Client Advisor: Advise clients on their CDM duties and secure the formal Principal Designer appointment.

• CDM Expert: Excellent working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015, with proven ability to resolve design and specification issues for safe outcomes.
• Design Acumen: Strong understanding of architectural, structural, MEPC, and Landscape design principles to lead risk mitigation.
• Proven Leader: Demonstrated ability to manage and inspire project teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Qualified: Professionally chartered (RIBA, CIAT, RICS, APS, or similar) with IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent, and completion of a Principal Designer Course.
• Exceptional Communicator: A respected, patient, and pragmatic professional who can effectively convey complex information and resolve conflicts.
