Private Client Paralegal

A respected and long-established law firm based in Harrogate is seeking a motivated and professional Private Client Paralegal to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a genuine interest in private client law to work alongside experienced solicitors in a supportive and collegial environment.
You will provide legal and administrative support across a wide range of private client matters including Wills, Probate, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Estate Administration. The role would suit a proactive and detail-oriented individual who is keen to progress their legal career within a high-quality regional practice.

• 
  Supporting solicitors with the preparation and drafting of Wills, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney
• 
  Assisting with probate applications and the administration of estates
• 
  Conducting legal research and preparing reports or summaries where required
• 
  Liaising with clients, financial institutions, and third parties in a professional and sensitive manner
• 
  File management, including opening, maintaining and closing client files in accordance with compliance procedures
• 
  Preparing and filing relevant documents with the Probate Registry and HMRC
• 
  Ensuring all tasks are carried out with strict attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism

• 
  A law degree or equivalent legal qualification (e.g. CILEx)
• 
  Previous experience working in a private client department (at least 6-12 months preferred)
• 
  Strong understanding of relevant areas of law including Wills, Probate, and LPAs
• 
  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• 
  Highly organised with the ability to manage a busy and varied caseload under supervision
• 
  Empathy, discretion, and professionalism when dealing with sensitive client matters
• 
  Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with case management systems

• 
  Progress towards STEP qualification or an interest in pursuing it
• 
  Knowledge of tax implications relating to estate planning and administration
