Private Client Solicitor

Nicholas Howard have an exciting opportunity for a Private Client Solicitor to join a small and growing Law Firm with a focus on wills, probate and estate planning. We are open minded to both full time or potentially part-time candidates, but will need a minimum of 3-5 years post qualified experience and an interest in this area of Law.

Working with a small practice, as part of a wider company group, this role represents a great opportunity for broad exposure to all aspects of client facing work, but equally with it we need genuine team players. Whilst there is admin support, the role is best suited for candidates who like end to end process, are comfortable in fee earning activity and relationship management, equally happy hands on with maintaining of files and case management. With the nature of the work, we would ideally also be looking for candidates who are comfortable working on financial matters, or with excel, coupled with managing fee earning opportunities and billing procedures.

Key Activities:

• To undertake fee earning work, both independently and as a member of the team and provide a profitable contribution to the work of the department.
• To maintain existing relations with the firm’s clients and assist and help develop new relationships with third party referrers.
• Conduct of private client and related matters, including trust creation and administration.
• Maintaining orderly and up-to-date files.
• Completing time recording and other management records.
• Using LEAP case management programme
• Liaising with clients, so you should demonstrate professionalism, diplomacy and sensitivity in all your communications.
• Liaising with other professionals e.g. financial advisers and accountants
• Legal research
• Financial control of your own matters with particular regard to cash flow and billing procedures.
• Recognising fee-earning opportunities and develop as appropriate.
