Job Title: Probation Officer

Hours: Full-Time (37 hours per week)
Contract Type: Temporary / Contract
Pay: £28.63 ltd per hour (Umbrella pay rate) equivalent to £20.30 PAYE per hour

Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Probation Officer to join our team on a full-time contract basis in Huyton, Merseyside. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to make a meaningful impact by supporting individuals in reducing reoffending and reintegrating into the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of individuals subject to probation supervision, ensuring compliance with court orders and licence conditions
Conduct risk assessments and develop effective risk management plans
Prepare high-quality pre-sentence reports and other court-related documentation
Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including police, courts, social services, and community organisations
Deliver structured interventions and rehabilitation programmes
Monitor and review progress, taking enforcement action where necessary
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with organisational policiesRequirements:

Qualified Probation Officer (e.g., DipHE Probation Studies, PQiP, or equivalent)
Proven experience managing offender caseloads within a probation or criminal justice setting
Strong understanding of risk assessment frameworks (e.g., OASys)
Excellent report writing and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-agency team
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting public protectionDesirable:

Experience working within HM Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS)
