Process Engineer

We have a permanent Process Control Systems Engineer role available within Tata Steel Tubes. This role is ideal for someone with advanced control systems and automation skills and is technical, impactful, and integral to our manufacturing operations.

Role: Process Control Systems Engineer
Location: Hartlepool (TS25)
Rate: Up to £45,000 + Benefits
Contract length: Permanent
Shift Patterns: Standard Days

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimise PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems

• Work on control system upgrades, diagnostics, and reliability improvements

• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to implement automation strategies

• Support capital projects and ensure system compliance with safety and industry standards

• Monitor and improve industrial networks and control system performance

Essential requirements:

• A 2:1 Bachelor's degree with 4+ years' experience, or HNC with 10+ years' experience in Electrical, Control Systems, or Automation Engineering

• Hands-on experience with Siemens S7, Allen Bradley, or similar PLCs

• Strong understanding of SCADA systems, HMI development, and industrial protocols

• Proven experience in fault finding, commissioning, and system optimisation

• Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments

Desirable requirements:

• Knowledge of control network security and industry best practices

• Familiarity with capital project involvement and compliance standards
