A major infrastructure client is seeking an experienced Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist to help drive procurement excellence, assure supply chain performance and support the successful delivery of high-value projects.
Role: Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist Duration: 12-month contract Pay: Up to £500 p/day (Inside IR35) Location: London (Hybrid) Other: Eligible to obtain BPSS clearanceYou'll act as a key interface between project teams, commercial functions and the wider supply chain, as well as provide procurement leadership and assurance across multiple workstreams.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary interface between project, commercial and supply chain functions, ensuring alignment and consistency across procurement activities. Provide assurance on procurement and subcontracting activities, ensuring adherence to programme standards, policies and best practices. Coordinate and manage forward procurement pipelines while ensuring opportunities are published in line with programme requirements. Forecast local and SME supply chain spend and validate performance through KPI reporting and supply chain analytics. Develop and drive procurement schedules aligned to construction programmes, proactively identifying risks, delays and delivery concerns. Review procurement strategies and sourcing approaches to maximise value, competition and programme benefit. Assure tender documentation, including PQQs, Selection Questions and Invitations to Tender. Support tender negotiations and ensure value-for-money outcomes are achieved. Review tender evaluations and recommendations, providing expert advice to project leadership teams. Support commercial teams with subcontracting reviews and governance requirements.You will be a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping to shape procurement strategies, unlock supply chain opportunities and drive continuous improvement across a complex and fast-paced environment.
Key Requirements:
Significant experience in procurement, supply chain management or commercial delivery within major infrastructure, construction, engineering or capital projects. Strong knowledge of procurement governance, tendering processes and subcontract management. Experience developing procurement strategies and managing complex supply chain activities. Proven ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary project teams. Strong commercial awareness and the confidence to challenge, influence and make recommendations. Experience managing procurement schedules, pipelines and performance reporting. Knowledge of SME engagement and responsible procurement practices would be highly advantageous. Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
