We’re looking for an experienced Procurement & Supply Planner to join a growing business based in High Wycombe.
This would suit someone with around 5–6 years’ experience within purchasing, procurement or supply chain who enjoys a hands-on role managing suppliers, stock levels and purchasing requirements. This is not a management position, but you will take ownership of your own purchasing activity and work closely with teams across the business.
Key Responsibilities of the Procurement & Supply Planner:
* Manage the purchasing of materials, components and equipment
* Raise and manage purchase orders through to delivery
* Work closely with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times and availability
* Negotiate pricing, payment terms and supply arrangements
* Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers
* Source and assess new suppliers when required
* Monitor supplier performance, delivery times and quality
* Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information
* Plan purchasing requirements based on customer demand, forecasts and stock levels
* Monitor inventory levels and help minimise excess or obsolete stock
* Expedite urgent orders and resolve any supply or delivery issues
* Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations and Finance
* Support cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives
* Produce purchasing and supplier performance reports
Key Requirements of the Procurement & Supply Planner:
* Around 5–6 years’ experience within purchasing, procurement or supply chain
* Ideally experience within a manufacturing, engineering, electronics or similar environment
* Strong supplier management and negotiation experience
* Good understanding of stock control, inventory and demand planning
* Experience using ERP or MRP systems
* Confident working with purchasing data, forecasts and supplier performance
* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
* Commercially aware with a practical approach to problem solving
* Confident communicating with suppliers and internal teams
* CIPS qualification or working towards CIPS would be advantageous but is not essential
* Full driving licence and own car for occasional supplier visits Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
