Job Description - Procurement Director - National

The Procurement Director will be responsible for leading the Procurement team to deliver a highly professional and strategic Procurement service at Taylor Wimpey UK Limited. Working closely with, and supporting, the Supply Chain Director in delivering the supply chain objectives, which include governance and functional support to the commercial teams.What you will do:Procurement Responsible for Procurement function, specifically all build related products, but including support governace and guidance for indirect procurement requirements Responsible for ensuring that the Category Procurement team delivers a highly professional, commercial and strategic service, having overall accountability for the success of those categories Responsible for ensuring that the Category team provides expert advice to the entire business, to guarantee that Taylor Wimpey is achieving best value through all of its procurement activities and is complying with relevant laws and regulations Managing and developing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, driving continual innovation and quality improvement throughout Procurement To initiate and lead strategic Procurement projects Working with the wider Group Operations team to support research and development initiatives To assess both strategic and long term risks in Procurement and implement appropriate mitigation strategies as and when required Own in their entirety, and deliver all procurement benefits to the business Maintain a comprehensive and up to date knowledge of all relevant legislation, procedures and best practices for Procurement To support Taylor Wimpey’s Health and Safety and Customer Service objectives through the procurement processManagement To manage the procurement team to ensure that they build long-term relationships and seek innovative and cost effective solutions to meet the required targets and objectives To lead in the recruitment, induction, motivation and monitoring of the Procurement team, encouraging succession planning and people development To ensure that annual staff performance appraisals are carried out for the wider Procurement team Actively consider the training and development of the Procurement team Communicate and role model the Taylor Wimpey Cultural PrinciplesRequirement to attend Peterborough 2 days every other week.What you will have: Possess commercial procurement experience within a PLC structure Possess highly developed negotiation skills Demonstrable stakeholder management skills Experienced in leading and managing teams Excellent category management skills IT literacy inc MS word, Excel, PowerpointIndividuals seeking employments at Taylor Wimpey should know that we foster a culture of inclusion and value diversity positively which creates a better workplace and delivers stronger outcomes.
