Procurement Manager

Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our leading Suffolk based client to recruit for a Procurement Manager.

Purpose of role:

To ensure the on-time delivery of key components and services to ensure supply of finished product to customer is delivered on-time and in-full.

Key accountabilities:

• Drive supplier's development through regular performance monitoring
• Work cross functionally with various departments to ensure on-time customer delivery
• Drive down costs with suppliers
• Obtain competitive quotes for required components
• Accurately raise purchase orders with suppliers ensuring customer specifications is met
• Review & approve Supplier documentation including material certification
• Manage & grow staff within Procurement department

Skills and experience required:

• Previous experience as a Procurement Manager within an engineering manufacturing environment
• Experience in reading engineering drawings
• Experience in procuring, various commodities including but not limited to, metals, castings, motors, and seal systems
• Previous experience working with an MRP/ERP systems
