Procurement Manager

We're looking for a Procurement Manager to take the lead on sourcing and buying aggregates and related materials. You will keep supplies coming in reliably and at a good price, build great relationships with suppliers, and use your negotiating know-how to help the business get the best possible deals.

As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for:

* Source and procure aggregates and related materials to meet the business's operational needs.

* Review current purchasing costs and suppliers to identify where savings can be made.

* Negotiate prices, contract terms, payment terms and delivery arrangements with suppliers.

* Find, assess and onboard new suppliers to widen choice and reduce supply risk.

* Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers.

* Secure reliable, continuous supply so operations are not disrupted by shortages or delays.

* Monitor supplier performance on price, quality, delivery and service, and act on any issues.

* Track market prices, trends and supply conditions in aggregates and construction materials.

* Record and report savings achieved against the baseline of current purchasing costs.

* Work closely with operations, finance and site teams to understand demand and plan purchasing.

* Make sure purchasing follows company policies, contracts and relevant regulations.

The ideal candidate will be:

* Proven experience in a procurement, buying or purchasing role.

* Experience in aggregates, quarrying, construction materials or a related sector is highly desirable

* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

* A track record of identifying and delivering measurable cost savings.

* Experience building and managing supplier relationships.

* Confident with numbers, able to analyse spend and prices and track savings.

* Good communication skills, able to work with suppliers and internal teams at all levels.

* Organised, self-motivated and results driven.

* Competent with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
