*    Salary: £45,000-£55,000 per annum
*    Office based during probation, with ad-hoc hybrid flexibility thereafter

About Us

Amarinth designs and manufactures high-specification centrifugal pumps for customers across sectors including oil and gas, energy and defence.

We manage the complete pump lifecycle, from design and manufacturing through to testing, installation and refurbishment. Our international reach is supported by a collaborative team, specialist technical knowledge and a commitment to personal customer service.

Our people are central to our success. We encourage initiative, support professional development and promote a positive working environment where everyone can contribute.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager - Operations, you’ll manage our procurement department, ensuring key components, documentation and services arrive on time and within budget.

You’ll combine day-to-day purchasing management with supplier development, commercial negotiation and team leadership, keeping procurement aligned with our production plan.

This is a central role within the business, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork. You’ll work closely with colleagues across departments, bringing people and priorities together to keep production moving and meet customer delivery commitments.

Your responsibilities will include:

*    Managing and prioritising purchasing workloads through our material and resource planning system, obtaining competitive quotations and raising accurate purchase orders.
*    Leading supplier kick-off and clarification meetings to establish a shared understanding of specifications, testing and certification requirements.
*    Developing existing suppliers through reviews, audits and negotiations to improve delivery performance and value for money.
*    Identifying and qualifying new suppliers, using competitive tenders where possible to meet customer specifications, cost and delivery requirements.
*    Tracking and expediting components and supplier documentation, including reviewing material certification and securing timely approvals.
*    Owning procurement KPIs, including on-time delivery and cost savings, reporting monthly and working across departments to meet customer deadlines.
*    Managing and developing the procurement team through appraisals, targeted training and career development, while maintaining accurate systems and following health and safety requirements.

About You

You’ll be an organised, confident communicator who can build productive supplier relationships, prioritise competing demands and support others to develop.

We’re looking for:

*    Experience building and developing supplier relationships through regular reviews and meetings.
*    Experience managing and developing staff.
*    A professional telephone manner and confidence communicating with suppliers.
*    Strong planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
*    A strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork, alongside resilience and the initiative to drive improvements.
*    Five GCSEs, including Maths and English above grade C, or equivalent.
*    Availability to start within three months of an offer, with an immediate start available.

Manufacturing procurement experience would be valuable, particularly purchasing high-specification or certified components against customer requirements. Familiarity with MRP systems, supplier documentation and procuring castings, motors, seal systems, fabrications or welding would also be beneficial. Further qualifications, including A Levels, an HND or a degree, are desirable.

You don’t need to arrive with every skill listed. We’re committed to continuous development and will consider your potential to meet the role’s requirements within two years, supported by an active Personal Development Plan.

Benefits

We offer a range of benefits supporting your wellbeing, finances and professional development, including:

*    25 days’ annual holiday, based on full-time hours, plus bank holidays.
*    A contributory pension scheme with salary sacrifice.
*    Some flexibility for ad-hoc remote working after probation, following a fully office-based probation period.
*    Comprehensive training plans, annual appraisals and mid-year reviews.
*    Critical illness cover and death-in-service benefit.
*    An Employee Assistance Programme, confidential wellbeing support available 24/7 and bereavement counselling.
*    Annual one-to-one personal financial planning support, an Electric Vehicle Scheme and staff activities.
