Procurement Lead - Raw Materials & Packaging

A newly created role for a commercially-minded Buyer/Senior Buyer/Procurement Manager to take full ownership of the packaging and raw materials categories. You’ll steer strategy, mitigate risks, and agreements with suppliers to support the growth of the business.

What you'll do:

• Own and evolve the category plan, presenting insights and strategy to senior leadership.
• Know the risks, the trends, and the supply chain.
• Develop and execute short, mid, and long-term sourcing strategies that actually deliver.
• Write, negotiate, and manage contracts that drive value and reduce cost whilst focusing on developing the organisations sustainability agenda.
• Work closely with the NPD team to establish new suppliers where required.
• Build strong supplier relationships and set clear expectations internally and externally.

Skills You’ll Bring:

• Sharp analytical mindset - confident working with data from multiple sources and presenting it clearly.
• Advanced Excel skills - comfortable with formulas like INDEX, VLOOKUP, MATCH, SUMIFS, pivot tables, and financial modelling.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management across all levels.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience managing competitive tenders and RFQs.
• Hands-on experience building and owning category plans and running end-to-end sourcing.
• A natural problem-solver with a proactive, can-do approach.
• FMCG or manufacturing procurement within Consumer.
• CIPS qualified or working towards it? Great - but not a dealbreaker.

Salary & working setup:

£45,000 to £55,000 plus package
