Job Description - Procurement Officer

The Role

Key responsibilities for the Procurement Officer include:

Managing contract renewals and maintaining the contract register
Leading tender and quotation exercises in line with procurement regulations
Providing professional procurement advice to stakeholders
Supporting business continuity planning and financial year-end processes
Contributing to spend analysis, savings reporting, and system improvements

This role offers the opportunity to develop professionally through participation in CIPS

The Organisation

Nigel Wright are thrilled to be working with well established and supportive procurement team within a local authority looking to recruit a Procurement Officer for a 12m fixed term contract.
The Individual

The successful Procurement Officer will be/ have:

Prior experience and understanding relevant UK legislation relating to procurement and public sector procurement principles
Understanding and experience of procurement and e-procurement systems
Commercial awareness and experience of contract management
Experience preparing bid documentation and running all levels of sourcing activity end to end (whether through purchasing consortia or direct). (E)
