The electricity produced by the Moroccan Generation Plant will be transported exclusively to Great Britain through dedicated circa 4,000 km HVDC transmission system delivering 3.6GW of reliable energy for an average of 20+ hours a day.The project will provide a dedicated, near-constant source of flexible and predictable clean energy for Britain, designed to complement the renewable energy already generated across the UK.For more information visit www.xlinks.co and follow us on LinkedIn and Twitter.About the roleReporting to the Procurement Manager, you will support the procurement and EPC tender activities for the Generation plant in Morocco, which includes circa 4.5 GW of onshore wind , circa 7 GW of solar PV and a 20GWh/5GW battery facility. and other supporting services. The tender for this generation equipment has commenced, together with the tender for an EPC contractor. You will be responsible for the tender event management and coordination to ensure best in class process in accordance with all internal policies and procedures. You will support the delivery of project objectives such as savings in total cost of ownership, value engineering and safety performance, working in a cross functional environment. The role forms part of the growing Procurement and Contracts Management team that is based between the UK and Morocco.Key Responsibilities The Main Responsibilities for this role will be:Procurement relating to the Generation PackageTo manage the tender process for EPC Capex contracts from issue of Invitation to Tender through to contract award.Interface with tender candidates and stakeholders to ensure efficient progress of the tender: communicate tender bulletins, manage tender queries, organise steps of the tender process and ensure coordination between different parties (technical, legal and commercial)Ensure compliance with procurement and corporate policies.Report tender progress and results.Lead / Manage the procurement of other supporting work scopes, procuring at lowest cost of ownership and in accordance with the principle of efficiency and best value. This includes covering all commercial, business, and legal project risks in contracts and negotiating terms and conditions within own area of responsibility to ensure ongoing value for money throughout the lifetime of the contract in collaboration with stakeholders.Support Contract Management team with all post contract commercial matters in implementation phase.Support development and review of the Procurement strategies in line with the project requirements.Comply with HSE policies and procedures, promote safety and safe working practices both internally and externally to improve safety performance.Understand and support the development of relationships with main suppliers/contractors and liaise with points of contact on project(s) / contract(s).Support Xlinks in providing a world class procurement and commercial service.Experience and Skills RequiredTo be considered for this role, we would love you to have:Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, including leading end to end tender process.Wind and/or Solar experience desirable.Experience of drafting and interpreting commercial contracts with support of Legal function. Experience of working with FIDIC and NEC Contracts (desirable)Experience of estimating, cost & budget management, and contract administration.Experience of running end-to-end procurement process (supporting development of procurement strategies, supporting development of tender documentation, working with technical and legal teams for tender package inputs and outputs, managing tender process from start to finish, managing contract negotiations,)Identify relevant supply chain and conduct market engagement,Knowledge and experience of large construction projects;Renewable energy and/or Electricity transmission experience preferable.Xlinks is a small team, and we will expect the Procurement officer to have good organisational skills, be result driven and detailed focused, be a proactive self-starter whilst communicating and reporting effectively to others.The project requires strong teamwork qualities and personal drive.Organisational/time management skills to plan and manage work effectively.What we OfferAn opportunity to join a cutting-edge, world-leading business in an exciting industry.A competitive salary and bonus packageA flexible work environment
