Location: Location Flexible – Preferably York but Crawley considered.


Salary: Circa £40,000.00 depending on experience.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to join the Technical & Logistics Procurement team as a Procurement Specialist, based within our York or Crawley office. This role is offered on 13-month fixed term contract basis. 


This is a diverse role with multiple opportunities to interact with stakeholders at all levels, whilst enabling internal and external exposure to demonstrate your ability to influence & engage cross functionally.


You will have the opportunity to work with external suppliers and be part of zone project teams adding value back into the business; this includes areas such as process optimisation. 


As a Technical & Logistics role, it will focus on looking after Technical & Logistics spend across the Nestlé in the Market UK & Ireland.

Your impact


 


You will be responsible for understanding, communicating and helping to implement sourcing strategies on a local level. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for buying goods or services in locally sourced categories.


 


You will gather data and business requirements from your category and convey local requirements to Local Business Partners and Local and Above Market Category teams to help set actions and strategies.


 


Key responsibilities of this role-


 



  • Identify and implement cost saving initiatives in your categories, whilst ensuring compliance across all aspects of the process.

  • For At Market spend, negotiate, implement and manage contracts securing the most appropriate cost, quality and service for the business.

  • Provide the Local Business Partner with information and requirements gathered through the daily business (volume requirements, budget, supplier, spend & savings data, market issues, local market constraints).

  • Provide support to local teams to implement the Above the Market (regional) ways of working.

  • Work with the Procurement Business Partner and Local Sourcing teams to integrate sourcing plans and outcomes and to enable effective communication about successes and failures of Procurement in terms of Savings, Contracts implementations, new WoW (ways of working).

  • Act as an interface between the local stakeholders and Above the Market Teams to support and coordinate the data gathering and any input required for the Above the Market Procurement teams.

  • Approve Purchase Orders within GLOBE SAP system.

To be successful, your knowledge of operations within Nestlé will be advantageous. We will consider candidates with either an understanding of business operations or a knowledge of procurement processes.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Being able to prioritise & be resilient whilst working across NiM (Nestle in the Market).

  • Strong results focus & excellent influencing skills.

  • Good level of numeracy skills & to be tenacious.


 


Additional skills/attributes that would be of advantage


 



  • Previous experience of successfully leading projects.

  • Understanding of Risk Management.

  • SAP/Globe knowledge.

  • Financial awareness.

  • MCIP qualification is desirable but not essential.
