Are you a seasoned Product Control Manager with a deep understanding of commodities trading and risk management? Do you thrive in high-pressure environments and want to drive control and reporting in a dynamic and fast-paced business? We are partnering with a leading commodities trading firm in the energy sector to find an exceptional Product Control Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the product control function, ensuring the accurate reporting of trading activities and overseeing financial positions. You will play a critical role in maintaining strong controls over P&L, ensuring full transparency and accuracy across trading and hedging activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the product control function, ensuring the accurate recording and reporting of P&L, market risk exposures, and trading positions.
Collaborate closely with Front Office traders to ensure correct valuation and accounting for positions.
Take ownership of daily P&L reporting, market risk metrics, and commentary, highlighting significant trading performance and exposures.
Review and challenge position reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy across trading desks.
Develop and implement robust reporting tools to provide real-time, meaningful insights into trading activity and market risk.
Work closely with Finance and Trading teams to ensure smooth month-end and quarter-end close processes, focusing on accurate P&L and balance sheet reporting.
Drive system improvements and enhancements, working alongside IT and business analysts to optimize the use of ETRM systems, such as TriplePoint.
Lead the review of trading strategies, ensuring adherence to risk limits and profitability targets.
Support senior management and Risk teams with ad-hoc reporting and risk assessments as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
5+ years of experience in product control within the commodities or energy trading sectors.
Expertise in P&L reporting, position reconciliation, and financial controls.
Strong understanding of physical oil and products markets, with familiarity in commodity trading risks.
Advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency with ETRM systems (experience with TriplePoint preferred).
Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly advantageous.

Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams, including traders and senior management.
Proactive approach to identifying process improvements and implementing solutions.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to quickly adapt to changing market conditions.
