Job DescriptionProduct Design Engineers (x4)Birmingham Job Type : Permanent Salary: £34,000 Job Purpose: Design and develop new products for the Clients product range.Duties & Responsibilities:Respond to commercial briefs for product specifications.Develop innovative ideas for new products.Create drawings to obtain design approval.Design new products using 3D CAD.Prototype new products as required.Test new products and use analysis to review and improve product design.Test and evaluate competitors’ products.Ensure adherence to all processes and complete necessary documentation.Attend team meetings to provide updates on current projects.Comply with Health and Safety responsibilities as defined in the company health and safety policy, ensuring any specific responsibilities are adequately delegated in your absence.Person Profile:Excellent attention to detail.Exceptional drawing and rendering skills.Good communication skills.Strong planning and organization skills.Ability to work independently, often under pressure and to tight deadlines.Self-motivated and results-driven.Tenacious in coordinating a project from conception to completion.Excellent analytical skills.Team player.Willingness to challenge the status quo.Good PC skills.Competent 3D CAD user.Good presentation skills.Excellent technical problem-solving skills.Practical skills prioritized over academic qualifications.Education and/or Experience:Degree in Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering.2 years of experience in designing with plastics.Engineering background with essential experience in 3D CAD.Experience in designing components for plastic injection moulding of domestic components and materials is essential.Experience in commissioning injection mould tools is preferred but not essential.Experience with Siemens NX is preferred but not essential.Experience in liaising with tooling and manufacturing engineers is preferred but not essential.This company is an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
