Product Designer

Are you a creative and commercially minded designer with a passion for product development? Elevation Recruitments Design & Projects division are looking for a Product Design Engineer to join our clients growing team in Sheffield and play a key role in designing innovative, high-quality products for UK and international markets.

You’ll take the lead on new product development projects—from initial concept through to production—working closely with external suppliers, internal teams, and the Head of Product. You’ll also support product lifecycle management, ensuring our existing ranges remain competitive, on-trend, and cost-effective.

Product Designer Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of products in line with company strategy and consumer expectations

• Manage the full development lifecycle: concept design, prototyping, engineering, testing, and production

• Collaborate with Procurement to ensure products are manufactured to the highest standards and at the best cost

• Identify opportunities for cost-saving through smarter materials or processes

• Maintain accurate project documentation in line with ISO9001 quality standards

• Support the development of a clear and strategic product roadmap alongside the Head of Product and Marketing team
  
  

Product Designer Key Expertise:

• Awareness of current and emerging manufacturing techniques, materials, and market developments

• Confidence in advising and supporting other departments as a design expert

• Degree-qualified with at least 3 years’ experience in a design role, ideally within manufacturing (desirable)

• Solid working knowledge of SolidWorks and CAM software used in product manufacturing

• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead cross-functional projects
