Job Description
Based within our Eastern Hemisphere Laboratory in Aberdeen, the role supports a range of multinational clients in the
testing and development of products
across a range of O&G product disciplines.
Work primarily in a laboratory setting
conducting a range of quality control and performance tests as well as the development of new product concepts
including proprietary blends using both existing and new development products. Testing involves application and performance testing specific to the range of O&G product lines, whilst new product development involves mixing different chemicals, polymers, or chemical compounds, as well as different chemical processes to create new products and technologies.
In addition to performing laboratory work in accordance with a number of industry standard test procedures, the role includes aspects of
Product Development including research, design, blending, testing, qualification, commercialisation, and operational support
where required. The role involves communicating frequently with team members and other departments and calls for the accurate recording of a range of product and test variables and results in line with company and client expectations. The role may require input to modify standard test or devise new test protocols.
Providing technical support to internal business development and external clients across North America, LATAM, APAC, MENA and Europe, the role has the potential for occasional travel for work in other locations.
The candidate will be expected to play an active role in
quality assurance and health, safety and environmental (HSEQ)
matters, adhering to quality and safety standards during laboratory testing, taking additional precautions as needed.
Position requirements:
Prior knowledge and experience of the oil & gas chemical services industry desirable.
Problem solving, analytical ability, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of oilfield chemistry, familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, good mathematics and computer skills.
Exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work in a team is essential for success.
Ability to take on tasks independently without direct supervision.
B.S. degree in chemistry, biology, or chemical engineering, and /or equivalent hands-on lab experience.
