Production Artworker - Signage & Vehicle Graphics

About you

You’re already working in signage, vehicle graphics or wide-format print and you know there’s a massive difference between making something look good on screen and making sure it actually works once it hits production.

You’ll probably sit somewhere between artwork and production. Comfortable in Illustrator and Photoshop, happy taking supplied artwork or a design and getting everything properly set up for print, and you know your way around things like bleed, cut paths, scaling, colour and panelled artwork.

This one really does need somebody from the industry. We’re not looking for a general graphic designer who wants to learn print production from scratch.

Your experience

You’ll have worked within a signage, vehicle graphics or wide-format environment and have genuine experience preparing production-ready artwork.

That could have been for fleet graphics, wraps, shop signage, wall graphics, exhibitions, large-format print or a mixture of the lot.

Experience around RIP software, wide-format printers and cutting equipment would be a big plus, but the biggest thing is understanding the production process and knowing how the artwork you create is going to be physically produced.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be working across a really varied mix of signage and vehicle graphics projects, taking briefs and supplied designs through to files that are ready to go straight into production.

There’ll be artwork amends, proofs, scaling, cut paths, bleed, colour management and preparing files across different materials and applications.

You’ll work closely with the production and installation guys as well, so this isn’t a studio role where you send a PDF off and never see what happens to it. You’ll actually see the work you prepare get printed, cut, wrapped and installed.

As the business continues growing, there’s plenty of scope to take more ownership around artwork sign-off, workflow and the wider production process.

About the business

They’re an established signage and graphics business based around Pontefract, working across vehicle branding, fleet graphics, signage, wide-format print and architectural graphics.

A lot of the work is produced in-house, from artwork and print right through to installation, with projects ranging from individual signage jobs through to national fleet and branding rollouts.

They’ve invested heavily in the operation over the last few years as well, moving into significantly larger purpose-built premises to give themselves room to bring more work through HQ.

This hire is another part of that growth.
