Our client Nigel Wright is delighted to be working with an international business, with a rapidly expanding site in the Tyne and Wear area, to recruit an additional Production Engineer. The role will support the introduction of new products, as well as improvement projects at their complex assembly plant.
The opportunity Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, responsibilities include:
Liaise with on site Engineers and Manufacturing teams to identify optimal automation solutions, support implementation and ensure appropriate metrics and control mechanisms are in place to achieve sustainable gains.
Collaborating with key stakeholders, this position will deliver industry best practice automation through effective project management and implementation.
Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods.
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Set targets in line with the department objectives for the creation and management of all product and process SOP’s, ensuring control and adherence within the manufacturing environment.
Roll out training programmes for all new methods introduced.
Prepares product and method reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends.
The successful candidate will have:
Proven experience of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement tools and techniques such as Six Sigma.
Significant experience in a similar role within manufacturing.
Educated to HND or degree level, in an Engineering discipline, or have equivalent time served experience.
Working knowledge of FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa diagrams, 5-why and SPC.
