The Production Engineer will assist in developing and improving manufacturing and assembly processes at the Luton site. By collaborating with experienced engineers, you will learn how to manufacture, assemble, test, and deliver products efficiently while adhering to quality, cost, and safety standards. This role offers hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering, tooling design, process development, and continuous improvement activities. You will contribute to enhancing productivity, reducing waste, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in developing and improving manufacturing processes and documentation to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production.
* Support the design and development of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids.
* Help create and maintain manufacturing routings, bills of materials, and process information within Epicor.
* Work with production teams to identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce waste.
* Support the introduction of new products into manufacturing, ensuring production requirements are considered throughout the project lifecycle.
* Assist with PFMEA activities and other manufacturing risk assessments.
* Help investigate manufacturing issues and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Support quality improvement initiatives through data collection, process validation, and testing activities.
* Prepare reports, manufacturing instructions, and technical documentation as required.
* Work closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to support manufacturing operations.
* Develop knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication, assembly, testing, and inspection processes.
* Continually develop your technical knowledge through training, mentoring, and hands-on experience.
What You Will Need:
* Degree, Higher Apprenticeship, or Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering, with 2-5 years of practical engineering experience gained through an apprenticeship or within a manufacturing environment.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
* Working knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks or equivalent.
* A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
