We are currently recruiting for a hands-on, experienced Production Line Supervisor to join our client’s manufacturing facility in Widnes, Cheshire. You will be responsible for ensuring the production runs safely, efficiently and to the required quality standard, while also assisting with machine setups, line changeovers, stock accuracy and supporting staff.
As the Production Line Supervisor your key responsibilities are:
Lead, support and coordinate the production team on a day-to-day basis. Plan and allocate work so production targets and priorities are achieved. Monitor production output, downtime, labour efficiency, waste and quality issues. Oversee and support the setup of filling lines, cappers, labellers, conveyors and wipes lines. Optimise machine settings to improve reliability, output and line efficiency. Support line changeovers, product changeovers and washouts. Work with Engineering where required on day-to-day maintenance, adjustments and recurring machine issues. Use ERP system to review work orders, stock levels and production requirements. Ensure production paperwork, batch records, checks and line documentation are completed accurately. Ensure all production work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures, including PPE, chemical handling, spill response, isolation and washout requirements. Support investigations into safety incidents, near misses, quality issues and downtime. Maintain good housekeeping across production lines, equipment areas and workstations. As the Production Line Supervisor, you will have the following skills:
Experience in a Production, Manufacturing, Chemical, FMCG, Food, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, Household products or similar environment. Previous experience leading, supervising or coordinating a production team. Practical understanding of production machinery, line setup, changeovers and troubleshooting. Must be hands-on, practical and mechanically minded with basic maintenance and fault-finding skills. Confident using ERP, stock control or production systems. Good understanding of health and safety, quality standards and accurate production paperwork. Strong attention to detail, especially around stock, paperwork, settings and quality.
