Production Manager

Job Title: Production Manager – Fabrication & Welding
Location: Wakefield
Salary: £35,000 - £42,000

Elevation Recruitment Group are currently supporting a client who are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Manager to lead their fabrication and welding operations. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will oversee daily production activities, manage teams across the shop floor, and drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency.

This is a hands-on role that requires a strong background in metal fabrication and welding, as well as proven leadership skills to manage teams, streamline processes, and deliver on-time production targets.

Key Responsibilities of the Production Manager include:

• Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the fabrication and welding departments
• Drive productivity, quality, and safety improvements across the shop floor
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate production to meet customer and business demands
• Develop and motivate production teams through effective coaching and leadership
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve production issues
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives

We’re looking for Production Managers with the below skills & experience:

• Proven leadership experience in a fabrication/welding manufacturing environment
• Strong technical knowledge of welding techniques, metal fabrication processes, and materials
• Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with lean tools (5S, Kaizen, root cause analysis, etc.)
• Health & Safety conscious, ideally with IOSH/NEBOSH certification
• Proficient in using production planning systems and MS Office
