A well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business based in Wolverhampton, producing high-quality machined and fabricated parts for demanding industries. As they continue to grow, they're looking for an experienced Production Manager to join their Senior Leadership Team and take ownership of day-to-day operations across multiple production units.
This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on setting the pace, driving performance, and getting the best out of a large production team - all while ensuring customers receive high-quality parts, on time, every time.
What you'll be doing
* Own day-to-day production and delivery across multiple facilities, hitting targets for OTD, OEE, sales, inventory control and budget.
* Turn engineering job routings into practical, risk-assessed production plans, and introduce visual management tools to track adherence.
* Drive cost reduction and process improvement, identifying gained hours and efficiency opportunities.
* Manage transport and subcontract services so they stay aligned with the production schedule.
* Keep the capacity tracker up to date, working closely with Business Development, Engineering and Account Management.
* Lead, motivate and performance-manage a large production team, running daily production meetings to keep everyone focused and issues visible.
* Partner with Maintenance to keep equipment running reliably and TPM/housekeeping standards high.
* Champion standardised tooling, quality and continuous improvement, supporting RFT, OTIF and OEE targets.
* Act as a key point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, resolving issues quickly and escalating where needed.
* Ensure compliance with AS9100 requirements, including accurate job card reporting.
What we're looking for
* Minimum 3 years' experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of production planning, CNC machining and metal fabrication.
* Working knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 standards.
* Computer literate, particularly MS Excel and Outlook.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, including confidence liaising directly with customers.
* Maths and English GCSE grade C (or equivalent).
* Desirable: an Engineering degree, HND or HNC, experience in a precision machining environment, and/or Lean Manufacturing qualifications.
What's on offer
* Salary up to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
* A senior leadership role with genuine influence over operations and strategy.
* The opportunity to shape production performance across multiple units.
