Role Profile

Our client is a growing privately-owned business, who have recently invested over £2 million into new production equipment and facilities to scale with growth. As Production Night Shift Manager, you will be responsible for afterhours production volumes while ensuring the highest level of health and safety compliance. Successfully managing your team of technical operators and production staff in a team of up to 7. Ensuring smooth running of production and uptime of production machinery, reporting into the Production Manager with throughput KPIs and production metrics. The role is Sunday to Thursday night shift operating over the 10pm-6am shift period.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the night production volumes - driving performance and ensuring product quality standards are maintained.
• Maintain and manage production machinery to reduce downtime and maximise throughput.
• Lead the nightly shift team of production staff to the highest of standards in efficiency, compliance and throughput.
• Closely collaborate with the Production Manager to ensure targets and KPIs are met.
• Conduct shift handovers, effectively communicating key updates, issues and performance metrics between shifts.
• Act as a resilient and decisive leader, taking accountability for nightly production volume and quality.
• Making effective commercial decisions under pressure.
• Ensure smooth running of production, where necessary, taking a 'hands-on' approach with production machinery.
• Supervise and motivate production teams, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to maintain high performance.
• Always ensure stringent SHEQ compliance across all aspects of production.

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven people management experience, ideally within a production environment.
• Experience of night shift production environments, with proven record being Shift Lead.
• Strong background in food/pharmaceutical production or FMCG sector.
• Good understanding of quality, health & safety standards in a fast-moving food production environment.
• Evidence of technical skills to operate and perform basic maintenance on production machinery.
• A dynamic and resilient leader.
• A driven individual who can take initiative.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
