Job Description - Production Planner

Production Planner
Thetford, Norfolk
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (10:00–18:00)
Salary: Up to £32,000, depending on skills and experience

Hales Group are recruiting a Production Planner for their Thetford based client.

In this exciting new office based role, you will be responsible for determining efficient daily, weekly and monthly production schedules, taking into account available resources of material, labour and equipment.

Responsibilities to include:
  • Creating daily production plan by product, balancing materials, labour, and capacity against customer orders and forecasts
  • Delivering against customer daily collections (Monday to Thursday)
  • Creating, monitoring and adjusting the production plan as required, based on changing conditions such as customer requests, delayed material, absence, holidays, equipment breakdowns, etc.
  • Communicating by phone and email with Customers and Suppliers to complete production plans and manage capacity issues, providing a consistently high level of service
  • Solving issues such as quality, planned maintenance, shortages, spikes and production delays that may influence on-time delivery
  • Analysing system and data to identify ways to prevent future issues
  • Supporting where appropriate any site projects, identifying process inefficiencies and driving optimisation to deliver increased productivity
  • Maintaining accurate systems/records at all times
Essential skills:
  • Previous experience in a similar role and manufacturing environment
  • Detail-oriented and highly organised
  • Confident communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team, assisting other departments when required
  • A calm nature when working under pressure
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experienced in meeting tight deadlines, prioritising tasks and multi-tasking to achieve results
  • Ability to creatively solve challenging problems
  • Focussed on delivering high-quality results
Previous experience in the following would be advantageous:
  • Supply chain planning
  • Quality control
