Production Planner

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an organised and proactive Production Planner to join an established manufacturing business based in Stourport-on-Severn.

Working as part of the Planning Team, you will play an important role in coordinating production schedules, maintaining accurate planning records and ensuring materials are available to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.

This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone with experience in production planning, manufacturing administration or a similar coordination role who enjoys working across different departments to keep operations running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

* Create, maintain and update production plans, ensuring planning records are accurate and up to date.

* Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) from customer orders.

* Work closely with planners and programmers to process BOMs, engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.

* Monitor production output against planned schedules and investigate any discrepancies.

* Use Sage 200 to check stock availability and allocate materials where required.

* Provide lead times and delivery forecasts to customers and internal teams.

* Liaise with shop-floor production departments to monitor progress, resolve delays and keep jobs on schedule.

* Produce monthly stock reports, investigate discrepancies and share relevant information with the appropriate departments.

* Maintain accurate data across production planning systems and Excel spreadsheets.

* Coordinate with planning, sales and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and maintain workflow.

* Assist with planning holiday requirements and coordinating workloads where necessary.

* Respond to telephone and email enquiries, providing updates and administrative support.

* Follow relevant ISO procedures and contribute to maintaining accurate records and effective processes.

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, detail-oriented and confident managing multiple priorities within a busy manufacturing environment.

You will ideally have:

* Previous experience in production planning, manufacturing administration or a similar coordination role.

* Experience using Sage 200 or a comparable ERP system.

* An understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing processes.

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.

* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads effectively.

* Excellent attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills.

* The ability to investigate issues, use initiative and identify practical solutions.

* Confident communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

* A proactive approach to meeting deadlines and maintaining production schedules.

Previous experience within a manufacturing or factory environment would be advantageous.

Salary, Benefits and Working Hours

* Salary: £34,000 per annum.

* Annual leave: 34 days holiday.

* Birthday benefit: An additional day off for your birthday.

* Contract: Full-time, permanent.

* Location: Stourport-on-Severn

Working hours:

* Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm.

* Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm.

* 30-minute lunch break Monday to Thursday.
