An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Planning Supervisor to join a growing manufacturing business. Reporting into Operations, this role is responsible for coordinating material flow, production support activities and work-in-progress to ensure manufacturing schedules are achieved efficiently and without interruption. Leading a small team, you will work closely with production, planning and supply chain functions to maximise productivity, maintain operational performance and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support a team responsible for ensuring materials, components and equipment are available to production in line with manufacturing schedules. Coordinate daily production support activities to ensure manufacturing operations achieve planned output targets. Work closely with production planners, supply chain teams and operational stakeholders to ensure the timely flow of materials throughout the manufacturing process. Develop and improve material flow, kitting, line replenishment and work allocation processes to minimise downtime and eliminate shortages. Ensure ERP and production systems accurately reflect inventory movements, work-in-progress status and product locations. Monitor operational performance, productivity and efficiency metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement. Support the delivery of production plans through effective resource coordination and capacity management. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, safety and right-first-time manufacturing. Lead, develop and mentor team members to achieve departmental and operational objectives. Work collaboratively across production, engineering, stores and supply chain functions to resolve issues and maintain workflow continuity.Beneficial Skills / Experience:
Experience within a production planning, manufacturing coordination, operations supervision or supply chain environment. Strong organisational, scheduling and workload planning skills. Experience using ERP, MRP or manufacturing management systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop teams. Strong attention to detail and focus on operational performance. Experience in a production planning or scheduling function within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Knowledge of material requirement planning (MRP) and production control processes. Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and operational excellence methodologies. Experience managing material flow, inventory accuracy and production support activities.Additional Details:
