Shift Options

Double Day Shift – 25% Shift Premium
£22.50–£23.75 per hour including shift premium

Morning: Monday–Thursday 6:00am–2:00pm, Friday 6:00am–11:00am
Afternoon: Monday–Thursday 2:00pm–10:00pm, Friday 11:00am–4:00pm

Morning and afternoon shifts rotate.

Night Shift – 40% Shift Premium
£25.20–£26.60 per hour including shift premium

Sunday–Thursday 10:00pm–6:00am

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Shift Lead to join a precision engineering manufacturer in Bitton, Bristol.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing a production team while ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality manufacturing operations. Strong CNC machining knowledge across turning and milling is required.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support production operators throughout the shift

*

Allocate workloads and manage staffing levels

*

Monitor production targets, KPIs and deadlines

*

Provide hands-on CNC turning and milling support

*

Assist with machine setup, tool changes and offset adjustments

*

Interpret engineering drawings and tolerances

*

Provide technical guidance to operators

*

Carry out first-off and in-process quality checks

*

Investigate defects and support corrective actions

*

Complete effective shift handovers

*

Enforce health and safety procedures

*

Support continuous improvement and waste reduction

About You

*

Experience within CNC machining, assembly or precision engineering

*

Previous experience leading or supervising a production team

*

Strong CNC turning and/or milling knowledge

*

Able to read engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation

*

Experience using micrometers, verniers and gauges

*

Strong communication, leadership and team development skills

*

Able to manage performance, attendance and shop-floor issues professionally

*

Aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing experience is desirable

*

AS9100 experience is desirable

*

Experience with shift handovers and production meetings is advantageous
