We are currently recruiting for a Production Specialist, for our Leicester plant. This is an excellent opportunity to join us at leadership level in a division that drives the business forward through continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Production Specialist is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of a diverse range of automated and manual production machinery. This role combines advanced technical capability with strong ownership of quality and safety standards. The Production Specialist serves as a frontline troubleshooter, quality and safety champion, and technical mentor to operators, contributing to consistent production flow, product quality, and high operational performance.


Technical Operations



  • Operate, set up, and optimise automated and non automated machinery including automated robotic machines, guillotines, flow wrappers, strip cutters/bottle machines, rotary guillotines, label printers, dispensing equipment, saturating machinery, and new technologies.

  • Diagnose and resolve, where practicable, mechanical and electrical issues to minimise downtime.

  • Perform first line maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, minor adjustments, and component changeovers.

  • Complete process adjustments to maintain throughput and ensure product conformance.

Quality & Compliance



  • Conduct and accurately document product inspections in line with SOPs and quality requirements.

  • Escalate and support resolution of quality concerns, non conformances, and deviations.

  • Ensure all production activities comply with GMP, quality standards, and documentation requirements.

  • Promote and uphold a strong safety culture, acting as a role model for safe behaviors.

  • Identify hazards, conduct point of use safety checks, and proactively address unsafe conditions.

  • Support investigations into safety incidents and implement corrective actions.


 


Continuous Improvement



  • Participate in root cause analysis, problem-solving events, and improvement activities.

  • Contribute ideas to improve reliability, efficiency, and process capability.

  • Support implementation and validation of new equipment and process changes.


 


Training & Team Support



  • Provide technical support to operators, coaching them on safe and efficient machine operation.

  • Support training plans, including documentation updates and on-the-job demonstrations.

  • Lead by example in 5S and workplace organisation.

  • Deputise for the Production Supervisor when required, maintaining production control, communication, and adherence to standards.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED


  • GCSE-level education or equivalent required.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience operating production or automated machinery in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting experience.

  • Ability to interpret technical documents, engineering drawings, and quality documentation.

  • Basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems.

  • Logical problem solving approaches to equipment and operational issues
