Job Description

With a production and manufacturing facility in Bromborough, Wirral, an engineering office based in Knaphill, Surrey, and a facility in Aberdeen, Deepsea Technologies UK provides both diver-less and diver assisted engineered solutions for the energy sector.

The company has over 30 years of experience in the design and delivery of subsea production equipment, with a well proven record of delivering production and controls packages. This includes well established products such and Taper-LokTM flanges, RetlockTM Diverless connection systems, MQC stab-plates, Bend Stiffener Connectors, ROV tooling and much more.

The businesses client base spans the world, with approximately half of its revenue coming from overseas contracts. The Deepsea Technologies Group holds a global presence, with offices and manufacturing capabilities in India, Brazil and USA. The ideal candidate will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations at the newly opened Aberdeen assembly and test facility. They will also have a key role supporting the Field Services team through local tooling and equipment supply as well as the occasional opportunity to work on site or offshore, when required.

Key Responsibilities
Lead a team of technicians to deliver the assembly and testing of manufactured products and ensure all work is completed accurately, safely, professionally and in a timely way to deliver client projects
Ensure all team members are working productively, allocating jobs and workloads, scheduling, completing team-related paperwork and communicating with key stakeholders in relation to projects and tasks
Ensure that materials are available for the work scheduled for each day/week, planning and prioritising workloads and schedules accordingly
Report on daily progress, issues, and concerns to project stakeholders
Reinforce a culture of health & safety in all aspects of the production environment
Identify and make recommendations for improvement, implementing change where opportunities are present
Take a leading role in supporting the QA department in the deployment of the ISO accreditation and compliance process for the Aberdeen facility and associated activities
Act as an escalation point to resolve any issues effectively, where necessary holding discussions with key departments

Training and mentoring of new team members
As part of the UK management team, participate in management meetings, working collaboratively with peers within the business
Support the preparation of quality documentation for inclusion in Manufacturing Record Books and other quality records and accurate record keeping in line with company JP procedures
Monitor, generate and report on KPI data

Qualifications
Qualification in a

hydraulic/mechanical

engineering related field such as a craft apprenticeship or vocational qualification
Counterbalance forklift license
Offshore survival training and a valid medical would be an advantage but are not essential

Experience
The successful candidate should have a mechanical assembly workshop background, ideally working with subsea controls or production equipment. They will have been responsible for leading a team, training and mentoring inexperienced colleagues and prioritising multiple tasks. Assembly and testing experience is a must have, as is a good knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes such as forging, fabrication, welding and coating.
