Job Description - Production Support Administrator
Your new company
You will be joining an established manufacturing organisation based in Cowes, operating from a busy production site.
The organisation is currently strengthening its operational and administrative processes, creating an excellent opportunity for a proactive administrator to provide valuable support across production and dispatch activity.This is particularly well suited to a junior administrator, recent graduate or someone looking to develop their experience within a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with colleagues across the site and gain practical exposure to production processes, order administration and factory operations.
Your new role
As Production Support Administrator, you will help keep essential documentation and production activity moving efficiently through the business.
You will take responsibility for routine administrative processes, providing practical support to the wider operational team and ensuring production and dispatch documentation is prepared accurately and on time.
Your responsibilities will include:
Printing, preparing and consolidating production job packs Producing machine-production instructions and route cards Preparing and forwarding dispatch paperwork Monitoring the progress of production batches Following up with factory colleagues to help keep work progressing Maintaining accurate documentation and administrative records Supporting sales order receipt, order processing and dispatch activity Providing general administrative support to the production team Assisting with reception cover when required Communicating with colleagues across the site to follow up outstanding actionsThis is a hands-on administrative role where your organisation, accuracy and willingness to help will directly support the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
The position is based on site in Cowes five days per week. Typical working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, with shorter hours on Friday.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this Production Support Administrator position, you will need:
Strong organisational and administrative skills Excellent attention to detail A reliable and methodical approach to work Confidence following up with colleagues and progressing outstanding actions Good written and verbal communication skills The ability to manage several routine tasks and changing priorities Confidence using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel A positive attitude and willingness to learn The ability to work effectively as part of a busy, site-based team Availability to start at short notice The following would be beneficial but is not essential:
Previous office administration experience Experience in manufacturing, production, engineering or operations Exposure to order processing, dispatch or production documentation Experience preparing job packs, route cards or similar paperwork Reception or customer service experienceApplications are welcomed from recent graduates who can demonstrate strong organisation, good communication skills and the aptitude to learn. Previous manufacturing experience is not essential for the right person.
