Role Purpose
The successful candidate will manage a hard-working team of Assembly Operators and will be responsible for assigning daily tasks, with people management responsibilities such as performance management, recruitment, absence and/or investigative meetings, approving holiday or overtime requests, performance reviews, KPI monitoring and training.

Who you’ll report to:
Production Manager

What you’ll be doing:

•    Responsible for the Production planning and assignment of daily & weekly tasks and activities to Assembly Operatives.
•    Responsible for first level people management including but not limited to, recruitment, new staff inductions, absence meetings in line with The Bradford Factor, investigatory meetings in line with the Company disciplinary procedure, approving holiday and overtime requests and performance reviews.
•    Responsibility of maintaining training/skills matrix, grading reviews and training requests.
•    Deliver key KPI’s and targets through the team.
•    To attend and facilitate the running of daily production staff meetings and team leader meetings.
•    Contribute to the efficiency of the production lines and quality of products.
•    Management of stock and inventories via SAP, maintaining usage data to support Procurements forecasting activities.
•    Working with Engineering Team to oversee maintenance of equipment and to develop strong business relationships.
•    To manage the process of stock reaching the production lines.
•    Obtain and utilise data to drive process improvements across the Production area.
•    Support the Production Manager when raising purchase requests, working to company budgets and restraints.
•    To provide training to Line Leader cover and assist with sickness and holiday cover on behalf of other team leaders within production.
•    Working alongside other departments within the business.
•    To ensure near misses are correctly recorded, learning from incidents and implementing preventative measures.
•    Being a role model in following Health and Safety procedures, ensuring compliance from all operatives.
•    Any further reasonable requests as instructed by the Production Manager.

Person Specification

We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and have a passion to contribute to the success of Hochiki. In addition to this, you will possess the following:

Qualifications
•    Essential: GCSE in English and Mathematics 

Knowledge
•    Essential: Production Assembly Line
Desirable: Fire Industry knowledge

Technical skills
•    Essential: Computer Literate with knowledge of Windows operating system
•    Desirable: SAP Business 1
